Belfast Trust are to recall up to 2,500 patients

According to the Belfast Telegraph, the Belfast Trust have announced today they are recalling 2,500 patients following an independent review of patient notes by both the Trust and the Royal College of Physicians into the work of a single consultant neurologist, Dr Michael Watt.

The Belfast Telegraph report that the Trust has apologised for the anxiety caused to patients concerned.

It has been reported that concerns about patient diagnosis were raised by a GP as far back as December 2016.

The Trust have announced that review appointments have been offered to all patients affected with special clinics set up to try to cope with the number of people affected with the intention to see all patients within the next 12 weeks.
