Case Study – £14,000 compensation for accident in Food Store

HHD solicitor: Katrina Lagan, Solicitor, specialising in personal injury claims

Settlement: £14,000

What happened:  Our client, an 83 year old woman was knocked to the ground by a staff roll container which was loaded with a delivery in an Iceland Foods Store in 2018.

How HHD solicitors helped: We were able to pursue a claim against the retailer for negligence and breach of statutory duty. A necessary element for any successful claim for personal injury compensation is establishing fault and it is for the Defendant to prove that they took all reasonable steps to comply with their duty of care. This matter settled out of court and our client was awarded £14,000 for the physical and psychological injuries she sustained.

Our client was delighted to receive the compensation due so promptly after pursuing the claim. If you have had an accident in a public place which has caused you an injury you may be entitled to make a personal injury claim for compensation.  To find out more about how our specialist personal injury lawyers could help you, please email on katrinalagan@hhdsolicitors.com
