Matt Higgins – Notary Public
Under the Solicitors (Northern Ireland) Order 1976, all solicitors are commissioners for oaths, which means that they can witness official documents other than those prepared by themselves or their opponents in a case.
HHD principal Matt Higgins is a Notary Public, which is an officer who can administer oaths and statutory declarations, witness and authenticate documents, and perform certain other acts depending on the jurisdiction. He can also witness documents for use abroad.
As Northern Ireland increasingly becomes part of a global community, more people are moving throughout the world which may require documentation to be notarised or certified in order to allow employment, studying and settlement. Buying and selling property abroad will also require documentation notarisation
