What happened: 10 year old schoolboy tripped on an open drain owned by NI Water in August 2015, sustaining a fracture to his left foot as well as injuries to his right knee, hands, left leg, shock and upset.

A necessary element for any successful claim for personal injury compensation is establishing fault, either through negligence or breach of statutory duty and it is for the Defendant to prove that they took all reasonable steps to comply with their duty of care. This matter settled out of court and our client was awarded £12,500 for the injuries he sustained.

As our client is a minor, his settlement award is invested in the Court Funds Office until he reaches the age of 18.
