What happened: Our client was assaulted and stabbed multiple times in his home by an unknown male. He reported this matter to the PSNI. As a result of this attack, our client was left with numerous permanent scars on his back, chest and forehead from the stab wounds. He also suffered psychological injuries for which he was referred to counselling.

Compensation Services carried out various investigations into the incident including liaising with the PSNI and applying for our client’s medical records. A medical questionnaire detailing our client’s injuries and treatment was completed as part of his claim and he was subsequently awarded the maximum compensation available to him under the terms of The Northern Ireland Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme.
