Case Study – Negligent Dental treatment – retained foreign body
HHD solicitor: Lauren Jones, Solicitor, specialising in dental negligence claims
What happened: Our client unfortunately had to undergo root canal treatment at his dental surgery and suffered subsequent pain and infection. After a number of further investigations and considerable period of time it was noted that a foreign body remained within the root canal system which was identified as part of a broken dental file.
How HHD solicitors helped: At HHD solicitors we obtained all our client’s medical notes and records, x-rays and scans and were able to identify eminent independent experts outside Northern Ireland who reviewed the treatment provided. We also listened to our client and instructed a Consultant Psychiatrist to report on the extra mental anguish cause by the dentist’s negligence. His claim included compensation for the unnecessary dental procedures, pain and suffering and the psychiatric reaction that he suffered as a result of his treatment.
Our client thanked the medical negligence team for all their hard work and how the promptly his claim was processed. If you have had a medical accident or dental treatment gone wrong, you may be entitled to make a personal injury claim for compensation.
