HHD’s apprentice solicitor Naomi Woods, recently became a Dementia Community Champion for the firm following training with the Alzheimer’s Society to expand her knowledge of the disease and how it can affect people and at HHD Solicitors we held a number of training sessions for all our staff in recent weeks, along with coffee and some fabulous buns, to empower our staff with knowledge and awareness of dementia to make our staff more confident and aware when dealing with all clients. Our staff will have greater understanding of scenarios that may arise and consequently can provide improved customer service to enhance customer experiences. We are working to make changes in our firm now to be prepared for the increasing needs of our clients and staff.

Currently in Northern Ireland, there are over 20,400 people living with Dementia – around 35% do not have a formal diagnosis. By 2021, it is estimated that there will be over 1 million people living with Dementia in the UK.
