HHD’s expanding legal team

HHD solicitors are delighted to announce a further appointment of two additional solicitors, namely Orla Henderson in our family department and Joanne Higgins in our property department.

These two additional solicitor appointments follows the recent appointment of experienced practitioner Desmond Loughrey to our wills and probate team.

Matt Higgins, Partner confirms the growth in our legal team commenting, “our aim at HHD is to provide our clients with first class legal advice and sound practical support. With the appointment of Des, Orla and Joanne we’re adding to the experience and expertise of our team. These appointments will only enhance the level of service offered to our clients and demonstrates our commitment to our local community.”

Orla graduated with a degree in Law from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2014 and then attended the Institute of Professional Legal Studies at Queens’ University Belfast and obtained her postgraduate Diploma in Professional Legal Studies with Distinction, in June 2019. Prior to joining Higgins Hollywood Deazley, Orla completed her training in a busy Family and Matrimonial Department of a local solicitor’s firm. She appreciates that family breakdown and matrimonial disputes are very often an emotional and difficult experience for clients and she is committed to dealing with all issues with a supportive and sensitive approach, whilst also assessing her client’s needs in order to provide the best possible service.

Orla is a member of HHD’s family law team and she advises clients on a wide range of family and matrimonial issues including divorce, non-molestation orders, occupation orders, residence orders, contact orders and specific issue orders.  Orla works closely with the other solicitors in the family law department, namely Sarah Hamill, Jenna Boyce and Damian Deazley.

Joanne graduated with a Law degree from Queen’s University, Belfast in 2016 and she then attended the Institute of Professional Legal Studies, graduating with a commendation in 2019. She joined HHD solicitors in September 2019 having trained with a local Northern Irish solicitors’ firm in conveyancing, wills and probate. She previously worked for a further year in the conveyancing department of another busy local firm.

Joanne is a member of HHD’s conveyancing team and has experience in representing clients in matters of house sales and purchases, transfers of equity, re-mortgages and equity release mortgages. She also has experience in dealing with transactions involving the Northern Ireland Co-Ownership Housing Association and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, amongst other housing associations. Joanne works closely with Jenna Boyce and Damian Deazley dealing with property matters, commercial cases and licensing issues.

Joanne will endeavour to ensure your conveyancing matter is straightforward and deal with your file in a professional and supportive manner. She is a confident communicator and has a certificate in ‘Start to Sign Language Skills’ from IPLS.
