Interim Damages Payment for Client

An interim payment is an immediate payment which can be advanced to an injured person, by agreement or application to the Court, from the compensation they may be due on conclusion of their personal injury claim. If liability is admitted for the accident or injury, but your case may not be ready to proceed to settlement or hearing, or the total value is being sought is disputed, you may be able to receive part of your damages money early. Your solicitor can apply for an “Interim Payment“.

At HHD solicitors, Damian Deazley, Senior Partner, specialising in catastrophic and personal injury litigation, was recently able to secure an interim payment of £100,000 damages to support his client’s clinical needs in a medical negligence claim against BHSCT whilst the case is ongoing.  Damian noted “Unfortunately during the pandemic, complex litigation such as clinical negligence actions have been held up in the court system and by applying for this interim payment I’m pleased that my client’s injury needs are being met whilst we await a conclusion to his case”.
