Nuwani Rathugama

Paralegal

Nuwani Rathugama joined HHD Solicitors in August 2025 as a Paralegal in our Litigation Department.  She supports the team on a wide range of civil and personal injury matters bringing a thoughtful and detail-driven approach to her work.

Originally from Sri Lanka, Nuwani graduated from the University of Colombo with a 2:1 Honours Degree in Law.  In 2022 she was awarded the prestigious Lord Kerr Scholarship to pursue her LLM in International Human Rights Law at Queen’s University Belfast, where she achieved a commendation in 2023.  During her postgraduate studies she was also selected for the Fordham Law Summer School, receiving a further scholarship to attend.

Before joining HHD, Nuwani worked as a Judicial Assistant at the Royal Courts of Justice as part of an internship programme organised by the Law Society of Northern Ireland.  That experience gave her a strong foundation in legal research, advocacy preparation and court procedure.

Nuwani is passionate about developing her legal career and plans to qualify as a Solicitor in the future.
