What happened:

Our client slipped and fell on a wet floor whilst visiting a property owned, managed and maintained by the NIHE. As a result of the fall, our client sustained physical injuries to his neck, back and ribs.

We offered our client friendly practical advice and ensured that we would take full care of his claim for compensation. We put NIHE on notice of our client’s claim, and when an admission of liability was not forthcoming, we applied for and secured Civil Legal Aid so that we could investigate and pursue a claim for compensation.

We arranged for our client to be medically examined by a Consultant in Accident & Emergency Medicine and a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon. We also arranged for him to attend for an MRI of his back to determine the full extent of his injury.

We subsequently entered settlement discussions with the Defendant’s Insurer who made an initial offer of £10,000, which ultimately rose to £25,000 after further negotiations. Our client was more than happy to settle his case for the revised sum without the need to proceed to Trial.
