Our Rosemary Millar recently secured a £125,000 settlement for a client who suffered as a result of substandard medical treatment received at a BHSCT hospital for a gynaecological condition. What should have been a routine course of care, left her dealing with ongoing physical and emotional difficulties that affected many areas of her life.
From the outset, it was clear that the care provided had caused significant and lasting difficulties for our client. To build the strongest possible case, we obtained independent expert medical evidence from outside the jurisdiction from a Urogynaecologist, a Dermatologist and a Psychiatrist. Their reports provided clear, supportive findings, which highlighted the failings in care and the impact on our client’s health and wellbeing.
In view of this compelling evidence, we were able to enter into negotiations with the Defendant Trust and secure a favourable settlement without the necessity of proceeding to a Trial. This spared our client the stress of a lengthy court process while still ensuring she received fair compensation.
